Praxis welcomes the opportunity to take clients on several outings each year. Not only does this boost their morale, but it also brings clients new experiences. Praxis feels that it's crucial to revive both body and mind by getting away, even if it's just for a few hours. It helps residents see there is hope beyond their current situation.

In 2008, residents went on a Sprit Cruise which toured lower Manhattan. For many clients, this was the first time ever setting foot on a boat. Not only were residents treated to a full lunch buffet, but the cruise offered spectacular views of the Statue of Liberty as well as onboard entertainment and dancing.

This past summer, Praxis embarked on another type of boat trip- this time fishing in Long Island Sound. To quote a resident, "Mommy, I caught a fish. Get the good grease ready!" To see the excitement in the faces of the clients as they caught HUGE 20lb fish was worth the cost of the trip.

July was time for cherry picking. It's always rejuvenating to get away from the city, and for many this was once again a new experience. Clients spent the day picking fresh fruit and communing with animals. It was a relaxing day full of fresh air and healthy food.

Clients have also been treated to other outings throughout 2008 including several sporting events- from the NY Knicks as well as a Mets game.
