Steven B. Warren (Board Chair - Joined 205 ) received his master's of social science work from Columbia School of Social Work and Social Administration in 1986. He served as the Services for the Underserved Executive Director until 2001, when he was disabled with porphyria caused by Agent Orange poisoning during his two tours of Vietnam.

In addition to being responsible for the overall management of SUS, he helped to spearhead Managed Care Innovations, Inc., a consortium of 13 mental health care institutions. Prior to his appointment as SUS' Executive Director, Mr. Warren was employed at the Project Return Foundation as a Program Planner. He has served as the New York City Regional Director of the Association for Community Living (formerly ACHAIMH) and as president of this statewide residential mental health provider organization. Appointed by Governor Cuomo to the New York State Mental Health Services Council, he served two terms from 1996-1998.

Steven lives in Babylon, NY with his wife Nancy and has two children.

 

  

Dale Burnett (Treasurer - Joined 2008) is a Wall Street executive who has advised and held positions at some of the Country's top financial institutions including Ernst & Young LLP, The Blackstone Group and Merrill Lynch. Currently, he is an investment principal in AIG Investments Global Real Estate private equity practice where he evaluates, structures and executes investments in commercial real estate acquisitions, development and joint-ventures in the United States, Eastern Europe and Russia..

 


  

Mark Gustin (Vice Chair - Joined 2008 ) Mark served as a healthcare management executive at Kings County Hospital Center from 1979 until his retirement in 2008. Mark is a member of the Board of Visitors, Long Island Developmental Disabilities Services Office. He is also a panel member for the Surrogate Decision Making Program, State of New York Commission on Quality of Care for the Mentally Disabled.

Mr. Gustin completed a post graduate managed care practicum and a post graduate residency in hospital administration from Kings County Hospital Center.

Mark received the following college degrees: Master of Professional Studies, Healthcare Administration C.W. Post College, Long Island University; Master of Business Administration, Management New York Institute of Technology; Bachelor of Science, Accounting New York Institute of Technology; Mark resides in Valley Stream, New York with his wife Rita.

 

  

Geri Stengel (Member - 2010) President of Ventureneer.com which connects values-driven small business owners, social entrepreneurs, and nonprofit leaders with the knowledge they need to make the world a better place and to thrive as businesses.

Geri is also president of Stengel Solutions, a strategic planning and marketing firm that advises and develops social impact organizations. She teaches Entrepreneurship, Growing Your Small Business and Social Enterprise at The New School in New York City. Geri co-founded Women’s Leadership Exchange, a social enterprise that helps women-led businesses take their companies to the next level. She headed marketing for Dow Jones Information Services and launched Physicians' Online. Geri is a past Vice Chair of Governance Matters, a non profit organization that counsels New York-based non profits on issues of stronger governance and a past board member of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO)-NYC.

 

  

Helena Ann Lynch (Member 2010) Helena is an associate at Wolf Haldenstein Adler Freeman & Herz LLP. Helena has experience representing clients in a variety of commercial disputes, including complex multi-district and cross-border matters, with a particular emphasis on securities litigation. She has advised individuals as well as national and multinational organizations in industries including media, financial services, oil, construction, pharmaceutical, and insurance. Helena attended New York Law School and graduated JD summa cum laude in 2005 Helena is committed to pro bono work and is also a member of the Women in the Courts Task Force of the NYC Bar Association.

 


  

Dr. Samuel Okoro Okoronkwo B.S. (cum laude), M.B.A., PhD (Member 2010) Dr. Okoronkwo retired from New York State Department of Health in 2008. Over a 27 year career Samuel held the following positions at NYSDOH. Associate Medical Care Administrator Office of Health Systems Management, Regional Director of Operations Office of Public Health, Assistant Bureau Director Bureau of Community Sanitation and Food Protection, Administrator Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement, Administrator Chief Systems Control and Certificates of Needs and Director of Purchasing /Management and Operations. Samuel has been an educator at the New School of Urban Professions and Health Services, Touro College and St. Josephs College in Brooklyn.

 


  

Ira Platt (Member 2011) is a senior member of the operations team at Eton Park Capital Management, L.P. with offices in New York, London and Hong Kong.

Ira oversees the day to day processing of fixed income securities; valuation settlements, loan closings, and PM reporting across three regions (US, Asia and Europe).

Ira previously worked at R6 Capital Management, Cyprus Capital Partners and GlopeOp Financial Services. Ira has an MBA in Finance and International Business.
